Inch by Inch, and Row By Row...

It just wouldn't be summer without posting about our garden on the blog. Or, maybe, it wouldn't be the blog if I didn't post about the garden during the summer. Or, is it that there would be no summer if we didn't blog in the garden? Maybe, summer blogging wouldn't be...well, never mind. You get the picture.

OK. You haven't gotten  he picture yet, because I haven't posted it. So, here I go. I'm posting it. Them - there are several.

Herbs:

This is AL. He is the main caretaker of the garden.

 Tomatoes:

Zucchini, or some kind of vine plant.

Al told me about this plant the other day. He said he's not sure what it is or where it came from. It has a velvety stem and soft, velvety leaves. It has small yellow flowers and strange looking pods. The stems are thick and stand about 2' high. There are three of four of them in the garden. I think they might be zucchini or watermelon, except that they are growing up and not crawling on the ground. Al thinks they might be from outer space. No, really. That's what he told me. I don't know much about horticulture and he's been gardening for 50 years, so I will give him the benefit of the doubt.

If you can identify this plant, please let me know at nbudin@menorahpark.org.

We also have an apple tree.

BTW, the title of this post is from one of my favorite songs:
